MSPA presently has more than 600 members. Over 30% of the membership is at the doctoral level. About 60% of MSPA members are also NASP members. The Maryland State Deptartment of Education recognizes the NCSP certificate (or equivalent level of training) as the entry professional level for school psychology in the state of Maryland

There are four classes of membership:

Active, Associate, Retired, and Student

Dues for the fiscal year July 1 through June 30 are:

Active: $70   Associate: $50   Retired: $25   Student: $20

Active membership:

• Maryland certified school psychologists or psychometrists, or
• Previously certified as school psychologists or psychometrists in Maryland, or
• Trainers in approved school psychology programs in Maryland, or
• Supervisors of school psychology in Maryland

Associate membership:

• Non-school psychologist professionals, or
• Retired professionals

Student membership:

• Graduate students not yet eligible for active membership

Retired membership:

• Retired persons who were active members for three consecutive years
